ADDRESS OF PAUL VI TO THE MEMBERS OF THE FACULTY OF
THEOLOGY OF THE UNIVERSITY OF OSLO
Tuesday, 22 June 1965
Gentlemen,
We bid you a heartfelt welcome; and We
assure you of Our sincere gratitude for the vibrant words of prayerful good
wishes, addressed to Us in your name by your distinguished Professor, Dean of
the Faculty of Theology at the University of Oslo.
It is indeed a consolation and a comfort
to know that you, and many others who are not Catholics, are praying for the
Council and for Us-may God reward you abundantly!
In all our meetings and conversations,
in all our dealings with one another, let us be «careful to preserve the unity
of the spirit in the bond of peace», so that we may truly be «one body and one
Spirit, even as (we) were called in one hope of (our) calling: one Lord, one
faith, one Baptism; one God and Father of all» (Eph. 4, 3-6).
In His name, We gladly bestow Our
blessing upon you, your families and all your dear ones.
